Its been a long time coming, but 2017 has arrived and with it a lot of drama will follow. As long as I go into this year knowing that anything can happen, then I can mentally prepare for whatever. At least I say that today.

Not much on this front, but I am working on building up a web developers toolbox that everybody can be proud of. Currently, all I have done is given Emmet a little bit of love, but nothing else. If I continue down this path it will start to look like I know only CSS, and we can’t let that happen. I intend to speak on the dangers and excesses of XSS. I plan to break down the beauty and the essential need to add NodeJS to your stack. I will marvel at the new abilities I am afforded with the new ECMAScript standards.

Trump is president of the US. He is a part of why I think this year has the potential to be a tumultuous one, but time will tell. Let’s hope that I don’t know what I am talking about.
In Aura Studios News
We are primed for that takeover in 2017. The team at Aura Studios steady grows and gets better. We intend on making a big splash in the Design & and Development world this year.
Another day, and another post on Jon-Claude.net. I have been working somewhat feverishly(well not really) on making my portfolio page something to be proud of. There is a lot more do to do, but yet again I am just building the foundation to epicness.
Because The People Want to Know
At work, I spent a considerable amount of time implementing loading indicators into my app because sometimes the app would hang and people wouldn’t know why. I also recall when I was working at Bethesda Softworks, that we had to adhere to the standards set by Microsoft and Sony to ensure things like that shouldn’t happen in their games. And since that is their standard for web apps games for the places that I work, its only logical that I adapt that as my standard for web developing. At least with my own site. So this update is all about loading. It also allows the Masonry plugin to do all of the necessary calculations in order to look smooth and sexy when all of my work comes in. I also added links to the websites that I have worked on. Just showing an image of a site does nothing to show what I have done, I would actually need to link people to it.
So Whats Next?
Next on the agenda for my portfolio development is to make things much more interactive. I intend to allow there to be a focus on a specific project. I also want to have a long form copy there to give more information about things. I also want to add an indicator to show if the project is my own, an Aura Studios production, AOL platforms integration, or etc. I think that eventually I will integrate a framework such as React or Angular and really make this into something special.
It’s been a looong time coming, but Jon-Claude.net has finally gotten an upgrade. I have done some basic foundational work to give the site a more solid place to work off of. I intend to make this the official hub for all things Jon-Claude. I will also attempt to show off what I can do with the various technologies that I plan to employ as I work on this site. I am planning to show the world why I think that I am so nice at what I do. Welcome to the new Jon-Claude.net….which still looks pretty similar to the old. Unfortunately when it comes to coding, the beauty is not always on the outside.
